Read below for a detailed description of treatment approaches to specific concerns:
Anger Management
IIn itself, anger is a perfectly natural, human response—it’s actually a built-in survival mechanism in human beings. Uncontrollable anger, however, can be harmful to oneself and others. Our approach to Anger Management focuses on recognizing possible anger triggers, including both negative thought patterns and external influences. Our anger management clients have successfully learned relaxation techniques to calm themselves when angry, and healthy ways to express anger.
Anxiety & Stress
Anxiety is a frequently occurring problem, and our licensed therapists are experienced at working with you to reduce symptoms. Our approach to anxiety and stress includes a cognitive behavioral approach (CBT) that seeks to identify negative thought patterns leading to feelings of anxiety, relaxation techniques, and possibly exposure therapy. We may also use a behavioral approach that focuses on the learned patterns of behavior that may lead to anxiety.

Couples/Marriage Counseling
Whether your issue is as mild as bickering or as serious as infidelity, couples counseling provides a non-judgmental space where a trained professional can aid in improving the quality of your relationship or marriage. Our licensed therapists aid in fostering increased communication between couples, getting to the source of conflict while focusing on the positive aspects of the relationship, and the characteristics of your partner that you initially found attractive.
Depression
Depression is one of the most common reasons for seeking therapy, and is very treatable with evidence-based, psychological approaches. The causes of depression can often come from multiple sources, and one of the goals of therapy is to localize and isolate those causes. Understanding the feelings, thoughts and behaviors associated with depression is often the first step. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a useful way to identify and treat the negative thinking that is often associated with depression.
Grief & Loss
Grief is a natural response to the loss of a loved one--whether that loss be from death, divorce or estrangement. Our therapists understand that each person copes and deals with grief in their own way, and there is no time limit for grief. Our approach to grief and loss therapy focuses on healthy expressions of sorrow, acknowledging unhelpful patterns of thinking, and providing skills to cope with loss. This has proven to be a very effective approach when dealing with grief and loss.
Addiction
Our approach to substance abuse and addiction therapy goes well beyond the simple physical dependence. Unanticipated life stressors, environmental cues, and social networks can often combine to create powerful agents for relapse. Our approach to addictions therapy is individually tailored, with a focus on the strengths of the individual, and using those strengths to live without substances, leading to a fully authentic life.
