    Cheri Stempien

My name is Chéri Stempien and I am a licensed social worker. My education began at Kutztown University and Wilkes University where I obtained my Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology with a minor in Anthropology in 2005. I earned my Master of Social Work degree with a concentration in behavioral health in 2007 from Marywood University.  Shortly after, I obtained licensure in the state of PA.

I have nearly 20 years of experience working with adults, children, adolescents and families in various settings, such as hospitals, schools, partial programs, residential treatment facilities, correctional facilities and community mental health agencies. I have experience treating variety of issues to include depression, anxiety, trauma, mood disorders, self-esteem, personality disorders and interpersonal relationship difficulties.

I use an integrative approach to therapy with a primary focus on humanistic, client-centered, and cognitive behavioral therapy. I like to provide a positive, supportive environment where one is free to explore within themselves openly and without judgement.
