I am a Licensed Social Worker working toward becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have over 12 years of experience working with children diagnosed with emotional disturbances, children with ASD, family-focused treatment, multi-systemic family work, early psychosis, and community and school-based behavioral health. Currently, I provide counseling to individuals of all ages, from school age to the elderly. I focus on, but not limited to, anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, and couples; I utilize components from multiple therapeutic approaches, including but not limited to Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Bibliotherapy, Motivational Interviewing, Shadow Work, and Mindfulness. I pride myself on creating safety and working collaboratively while supporting and guiding individuals toward the positive life they desire. I aim to empower individuals to find hope, value, and connection with themselves and others. One aspect of this is understanding one’s past and how it affects emotional and behavioral responses today: let’s learn, reflect, challenge, and grow. A little about me aside from work… this is hard; we are like Ogres, or is it onions? Shrek, “Onions have layers. Ogres have layers. Onions have layers.” And so do we (humans)! I really enjoy coffee, napping, reading, biking, chicken wings, and working out! I look forward to getting to know you and “walking” with you for a little during this thing we call life. 🙂
